VENEERS

AT LAST – THE SMILE YOU WANT

For many people, a bright beautiful smile doesn’t happen naturally. It comes about with help from a highly skilled cosmetic dentist. At EDITION dental, we can help you get the lovely, even, brilliant smile you envision for yourself. Not only are veneers a simple way to transform your smile, hide crooked teeth, remove unwanted spaces, chips, and stains, this highly popular cosmetic dental procedure provides patients with beautiful, natural results that can be life changing. No more feeling self-conscious about laughing, speaking, or posing for pictures, or worrying about hiding your teeth during important life moments.

At EDITION dental, our cosmetic dentist will design the veneers in your first visit and place them in your second appointment (this may vary depending on treatment plan and number of veneers placed). Each set of veneers is custom manufactured to perfectly fit and to enhance your smile and face making them indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

WHAT ARE VENEERS?

Veneers are ultra-thin shells of enamel-like porcelain that are bonded directly to the front of your teeth. At EDITION dental, we design and customize your veneers to give you a beautiful and natural-looking smile.

BENEFITS OF PORCELAIN VENEERS:
  • Strong and long-lasting
  • Strengthen teeth that have weakened over time due to trauma or extensive dental work
  • Have a natural-looking surface/extremely lifelike
  • Less tooth enamel needs to be removed than with a crown or cap
  • Stain-resistant
  • Function like your natural teeth
DO MY TEETH HAVE TO BE SHAVED DOWN FOR VENEERS?

Not every case requires your teeth to be shaved! In 90% of cases the teeth are prepared less than a millimeter. To shave as little as possible and conserve tooth structure, sometimes we will recommend minor orthodontic movement (Invisalign) prior to the procedure. The days of mowing teeth down to stubs in cosmetics is well behind us.

HOW LONG WILL VENEERS LAST?

Veneers need to be treated and cared for like natural teeth and they will last a long time (like maintaining a nice car). Rule of thumb anything that can break a natural tooth can break a veneer. A veneer should never just “come off” once bonded correctly. Life span is typically 15-20 years.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET VENEERS?

The time frame can vary depending on the final treatment plan. Some cases take 2 weeks and in other cases it’s 2 months. This is something we discuss with each patient prior to starting treatment.

COMPOSITE BONDING

Also called composite veneers, at EDITION dental we offer cosmetic bonding for patients with minor imperfections such as chips, cracks, and gaps in their teeth. It is a simple and cost-effective procedure that involves applying a tooth-coloured composite resin to the affected area, which is then shaped and polished to match the natural look of your teeth. Bonding can be completed in just one appointment, and the results can last several years with proper care.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF COMPOSITE BONDING?
  • Usually requires only one dental visit
  • Treat multiple cosmetic oral concerns with one treatment
  • Custom-made for you
  • Look and feel real
  • Should not require anesthesia
  • Safe for your teeth
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR BONDING?

At EDITION dental, your composite veneers will be custom created to fit comfortably over your teeth for an attractive and natural look. In your consultation, we will listen to your goals and concerns so our cosmetic dentist can personalize your treatment. Our dental team may also see whether you're a good candidate for bonding by assessing the total health of your mouth. You should not have symptoms of gum disease or routinely clench your jaw and grind your teeth (called bruxism).

CROWNS & BRIDGES

We provide dental crowns and bridges made from the highest quality, ensuring they last longer and blend in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth. They are among the most common dental restoration treatments and can replace missing teeth or restore a tooth that has suffered trauma, decay, or has an unsightly appearance.

At EDITION dental, we make certain that your smile is both beautiful and healthy through our comprehensive cosmetic dental services. Tooth crowns and dental bridges are just two of the many treatments we offer to make that possible.

If you suffer from damaged or misshapen teeth, our dental crowns and bridges could be a great option for you. They are among the most common dental restoration treatments, replacing missing teeth or restoring teeth that have suffered from trauma, decay, and more. We provide the highest quality crowns and bridges in Liberty Village, using our expert training and knowledge to truly transform smiles. Our highly skilled cosmetic dentists make certain that our crowns and bridges blend seamlessly with the rest of your smile, giving you life-changing results and building your confidence.

WHAT IS A CROWN?

Tooth crowns are fixtures created by dentists to cover or ‘cap’ the portion of your tooth above the gums. They are used to reinforce the structure of a damaged, weak, or rotting tooth. This helps to restore the tooth’s natural function and to maintain its size, strength, shape, and appearance. Crowns are extremely important if you have decaying teeth, as you may need a root canal if left untreated. Further damage is thus prevented when placing a crown over a suffering tooth. Without a crown, the tooth is often unsalvageable. Crowns can also replace a missing tooth by being placed on top of a dental implant.

WHAT IS A DENTAL BRIDGE?

While crowns can repair damaged teeth, a bridge’s sole function is to permanently replace missing teeth. If a tooth or multiple teeth are missing, we can close – or bridge – the gaps in your smile using this procedure. The dental bridge is typically made of crowns on either side of the missing tooth or teeth. These crowns support the artificial tooth that is custom-made to fit the empty space. Lastly, the false tooth is cemented in place to give you a flawless, long-last smile.

Do you think you’re a candidate for dental crowns or bridges? Contact EDITION dental to schedule a consultation to discuss your options and we will walk you through the complete process of transforming your smile.
