Fillings

Are you walking around with mismatched teeth, a mouth full of metal and mercury fillings? Well, no more! At EDITION dental, we only work with composite fillings that are mercury free, natural looking and durable so that your teeth can look and feel flawless by the time you leave our office. If you have silver fillings, we sometimes recommend replacing them with composite as they can corrode, leak, and cause stains on your teeth and gums.

Root Canal Therapy

The ‘pulp chamber’ is inside each of your teeth and houses the blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissues. When the pulp in this chamber becomes infected it becomes necessary to remove the infection in order to prevent tooth loss and other major issues. Root canal therapy is the procedure to remove such infection. It is a safe, effective, and quick way to preserve the quality and appearance of your smile.

Night Guards

While night guards sound like something unsavory, they are a simple, powerful, and pain-free way to protect your teeth from nighttime grinding.

DO YOU NEED ONE?

Hyperactive jaw muscles can cause some people to grind while they sleep. Grinding flattens and shortens your teeth. Our teeth get softer the deeper you go, and over time the damage begins to accelerate.

WHAT ARE NIGHT GUARDS?

At first glance, a night guard may look like a simple piece of plastic. But it’s a sophisticated appliance, custom-molded to your mouth and worn to protect your teeth from harmful grinding while you sleep.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

It’s pain-free and simple! At EDITION dental, our team will take a scan of your teeth and your bite, then custom mold your night guard. The custom fit will ensure comfort and allow your jaw to move gently when you grind.

Dentures

A smile just isn't a smile when teeth are missing.

Modern advances in dental technology make it possible to completely restore your smile, whether you have lost one or many teeth. At EDITION dental, we create dentures and partial dentures that are affordable, lifelike and provide a higher level of comfort for the patient.

IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES & PARTIALS

Dental implants are small titanium posts, securely anchored into the natural jawbone. If you prefer a secure full or partial denture and do not want to constantly deal with clips or adhesives, implant-supported dentures are the perfect solution. In a brief surgery, our oral surgeon or cosmetic dentist implants titanium posts that hold your dentures in place. With implant-supported dentures, you won't have to worry about your denture slipping or shifting. Your teeth look and function just like beautiful, straight, natural teeth.

WHAT IS A PARTIAL?

A partial denture, commonly referred to simply as a partial, consists of multiple teeth on a gum colored base. The replacement teeth may be in a row or spread across the base to fit like a puzzle with your existing teeth. A partial is normally secured with clips or brackets, and, unlike a bridge, a partial is removable. At EDITION dental, our skilled dental professionals will choose the perfect size, shape and colour match so you can feel confident when you smile again.

WHAT IS A DENTURE?

A full denture is a complete top or bottom row of teeth affixed to a gum-colored base. Dentures can be closed or open palate and may require denture adhesive to hold them in place. We offer the most advanced technology when crafting custom dentures for our patients, including “cosmetic dentures,” a specialized system that works to support the facial muscle structure, promote jawbone health, and makes it possible to avoid a “sunken” appearance. Whether you choose cosmetic dentures or traditional dentures at EDITION dental in Liberty Village, your comfort and quality of life – as well as an aesthetic smile – all matter to us.

How can Edition help?

Preventative dentistry is a type of dental care that focuses on preventing dental problems and maintaining good oral health. This can be achieved through regular check-ups, cleanings, and at-home care. Here are some specific ways that preventative dentistry can help maintain good oral health:

Regular dental check-ups

Visiting the dentist every six months allows the dentist to check for any issues that may not be visible or apparent to the patient. This includes checking for tooth decay, gum disease, and other problems.

Professional teeth cleanings

A professional cleaning by a dental hygienist can remove plaque and tartar that have accumulated on the teeth, which can cause tooth decay and gum disease.

At-home oral hygiene

Good at-home oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing daily, can help prevent plaque build-up and maintain good oral health.

Improved appearance

Preventative care can help maintain the appearance of the teeth and mouth, leading to a more attractive and confident smile.
