clear aligners

invisalign®

how does invisalign® orthodontic treatment work?

Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology to create a digital model of your teeth, we will create a plan that will ultimately lead to your perfect smile. You will receive a series of aligners and will be asked to wear each set for about 7-14 days, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will gradually move until they have straightened to their final position. You will visit us about once every 3 months to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

benefits of invisalign®:

Invisalign® aligners can help straighten your teeth and prevent oral health issues down the road with specially made clear trays. Benefits of Invisalign® treatment at EDITION dental include:

  • Less noticeable than braces (small, tooth coloured attachments will need to be bonded to certain teeth to achieve maximal success, they are not completely invisible but are much less visible than braces and will be removed at the conclusion of your treatment).
  • Trays can be taken out to eat and perform other activities
  • No restrictions on beverages and foods
  • Ability to brush and floss in a regular manner
  • Invisalign® aligners are fabricated specifically for you
  • Improving confidence and obtaining a more aesthetically pleasing smile
invisalign® for all ages:

Invisalign® is a treatment option that is frequently sought by adults and has become extremely popular amongst teenagers. Invisalign Teen® achieves beautiful results in younger patients without interfering with their lifestyle. They are able to eat whatever they want, brush and floss with ease, and play sports without any hardware getting in the way!

tips for success:

You will be provided ‘chewies’ that we recommend using 5-10 minutes per day to help improve the seating of your aligners. Chewies essentially make your aligners fit better, which helps your teeth move more predictably during treatment.

Additionally, wearing your aligners extremely well at more than 22 hours per day is a great way to ensure that your teeth move well.

ceramic braces

As an alternative to traditional metal braces, teenagers and adults alike are welcome to select clear ceramic braces, which provide similar improvements while being less noticeable overall.

advantages of clear ceramic braces:
  • Capable of providing the same strength, durability and function to traditional braces
  • Blend in with your tooth enamel and becomes less noticeable in appearance

metal braces

When you think of braces, traditional metal braces might be what you imagine. Metal braces use brackets and wires to gently shift your teeth over time.

Each bracket is carefully bonded (glued) on each tooth and then a wire is placed into each bracket slot. Over time, they gradually realign teeth into a more ideal position, and brief tightening appointments are done about every two months. Patients may experience some tenderness after their new braces are attached, but this usually stops after a few days. You can decorate your braces with any colour you wish and change it at every appointment.

Whichever option you choose, we will make sure you get the smile of your dreams at EDITION dental!

How can Edition help?

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry we offer that focuses on the correction of misaligned teeth and jaws. This is often done using braces or other orthodontic appliances, which apply gentle pressure to the teeth to gradually move them into their proper positions. Here is a general overview of our process of orthodontic treatment:

1

Initial consultation: The orthodontist will examine the patient's teeth and jaw to determine the best course of treatment. This may include taking x-rays, photographs, and dental impressions.

2

Treatment planning: The orthodontist will develop a customized treatment plan to address the patient's specific needs and goals.

3

Appliance placement: The orthodontist will place the appropriate appliance (such as braces or a retainer) on the teeth to begin the orthodontic treatment process.

4

Regular adjustments: The patient will need to visit the orthodontist regularly for adjustments to the appliance, which will help move the teeth into their proper positions.

5

Final evaluation: After the teeth have been moved into their proper positions, the orthodontist will remove the appliance and evaluate the final results.
